First Day Of Soccer

I'm about 2 months late with this one but enjoy the slideshow of Mekhi's first soccer practice! By the way, he adores his Coach (Gabe) and copies EVERYTHING he does... I mean everything!

Terrible Two's... Not So Terrible

Don't get me wrong... we have our moments where I want to condemn him to the farthest corner of the earth and tell him to NEVER return. The closest I came was telling him to go to his room because I didn't want to look at him. BUT (and that's a big but) with his new found sense of self and asserting his independence comes a little person that's sympathetic, genuine, caring and witty (he doesn't know it yet)... I think I might actually like the little guy. (smile)

What I've learned..

You can learn a lot from a 1 year old! Here's what Mekhi has taught and reminded me about love, life and myself this past year...

1. Stop and smell the roses (stop in awe and appreciate the things around you)
2. There's humor in everything

4. A nap in the middle of the day makes everything all better

6. Short-term memory is a wonderful thing-- forget about it!
7. Eat several times a day (to avoid melt-downs)

12. Love EVERY inch of yourself especially what others see as flaws

15. Don't need much to survive--just food, milk, shelter, love & laughter

Besides balls in all shapes and sizes (basketball, football, soccer, etc), Mekhi does have other interests and they are--in no particular order:

6. Bikes (especially motorcycles-- oh, boy!)

8. Hats (yes, he's obsessed)
9. Shoes (first thing he does after he gets up-- puts on his shoes)
